Mendelssohn on Mull Festival Film, photography, website

Mendelssohn on Mull is an international festival with some of the most talented young musicians playing alongside renowned professionals in a unique week on the beautiful island of Mull.

Client Reactions: Jane Nicholson, Festival’s PR

“What an absolutely TERRIFIC film! Wow! So impressed! Kevin has done a brilliant, brilliant job. A better advert you could not have. All the contributors come across beautifully, and say such poignant and wonderful things. Lump in my throat after watching it, I must say. What a superb mini documentary! It’s the best advert for Mendelssohn on Mull. I could write a page of details of why the film is so good – all the different components are superb”

Work for the festival includes:
Redesigned & developed new website see website here
Produced podcasts
photography documenting the festival’s unique character
developed social media presence

Mendelssohn on Mull – A unique and special experience isn’t an easy thing to describe. The venues are diverse, scattered across this dramatic island from the impressive and contemplative Iona Abbey, the craggy obdurate aspect of Duart Castle to the tiny Creich church beside a windswept loch. Creich seats, perhaps 50 people at most, who are drawn into an intimate performance of chamber music, so close as to be able to touch the musicians. Talented young professionals playing with seasoned mentors with distinguished careers. The intensity of preparation before the first public concerts on the island sees the musicians develop their performance in lean tos, B&B sitting rooms and church halls. Students and mentors playing together for the first time, with people they’ve never met before. Into this mix comes the audience, many longstanding friends and new visitors who discover the shared, relaxed informality and intimate atmosphere of Mendelssohn on Mull, accessible and free.
